Former world-class athlete, turned world-class coach, James Thie, shares with us findings from his Sports Coaching PhD research, including:

About your speaker:
A key member of our BMC coaching committee, James Thie is transferring the success he had in his illustrious athletics career to his impressive stable of athletes. A finalist at World, European and Commonwealth championships, and now a 4 x World masters champion, in his short time as a coach he has so far guided 15 athletes to GB international level. These achievements have led him to being named 2017 BMC Coach of Year and claiming Welsh Athletics awards in 2018 and 2020.
Off the track, James is a Senior Lecturer and Performance Advisor for Athletics at Cardiff Metropolitan University where he is currently completing his Doctorate in Sports Coaching.
