We are looking forward to welcoming you to Bracknell AC for a fantastic night of athletics at the Second Mick Marlow Memorial Event combining an open sprints and field event with a BMC World Calendar event on Wednesday 19th June. The event is a celebration of the contribution the late Mick Marlow, club stalwart, coach and athlete made to Bracknell AC and the wider athletics community across the country. It is an acknowledgment of the values Mick instilled in his athletes of dedication, commitment, self belief and teamwork and how these carry over into everyday life.

Below is general information for Athletes, Guests and Spectators:

ATHLETE REGISTRATION & TIMETABLE

  • Athletes must register and collect their numbers in the clubhouse a minimum of 60 minutes before their event.
  • Please report to your field events 30 minutes before the start time and track events 15 minutes before.
  • Please listen out for the commentator for timetable and event updates.

Timetable:

6pm: 400mHurdles, Long Jump & Discus Throw

6.10pm: 200m

6.30pm: 100m

6.50pm: Mick Marlow Presentation

7pm: BMC races start

7.30pm: Shot Put & High Jump

 

UKA Anti- Doping Rules

All entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself/themselves familiar with, and agree to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the [date of entry], whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.

  • First Aid– provided by M&M Medical- situated by the timekeepers
  • Results announced throughout the evening and available live online- details provided on the day.

Off Track

Refreshments in the clubhouse hot & cold drinks, cakes, choc bars, bananas and ice pops/ice lollies will be on sale. Pizzaarti will be selling handmade wood fired pizzas.

There is a stand and plenty of grass/space behind the spectator barrier for tents. Both the stand and trees will offer shade.

Athlete & spectator Toilets are at the top of the stand and in the sports centre.

Photographer: PGR photography will be taking shots throughout the evening. These will be available to purchase from www.pgrphotography.co.uk

 

 

Travel

Officials & events team car parking: in the athletics’ club car park to the side of the stand and enter by side gate (Bracknell Athletics Club, 2 S Hill Rd, Bracknell RG12 7NN).

Coach parking: on the top road of the track car park, turn R on entering the track carpark, this will be signposted. Please advise in advance if your club is arriving by coach.

2 options for Athlete, Guest & Spectator Cark Parking:

1: The over flow athletics club car park at RG12 7NN

2: Bracknell Leisure Centre car park, Bagshot Rd, Bracknell, RG12 9SE (not the club car park). The post code might take you slightly further up the road so please turn earlier into the sports centre as per map below.

Please note the track car park is for event vehicles and Officials.

** Royal Ascot is on the same week, please allow extra travel time to allow for diversions/heavy traffic if needed **

For Car Parking- Please follow the directions given by the car park stewards at all times. You must park where directed and must not park outside the marked parking bays.

 

The council now have NSL Parking Enforcement Officers visiting the Sports Centre & Track car parks at various times.

 

Penalty charge notices with a financial penalty will be issued for: 

  • Parking out of bay (over the white lines)
  • Parking on double yellow lines
  • Parking in a disabled bay without displaying a valid badge
  • Parking in a keep clear area or coaches only bay

Neither the Committee or staff of either Bracknell AC or the Sports Centre, can cancel any parking fines, you would need to appeal by following the procedures laid out on the issued parking ticket.
