John Knowles 23/10/1961 – 21/06/2024

John Knowles passed in the early hours of 21/6 after a short illness.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone in the athletic community especially those who regularly attended the Regional BMC at Exeter, The Millfield PB Classic, and The Grand Prix meetings.  John was a driving force behind these meetings which have helped a huge number of athletes to progress their athletics careers.

John was the BMC Welfare officer and part of the committee for many years offering valuable wisdom and advice based on his great knowledge of athletics and his training as a senior police officer.

Everyone in the BMC will miss his cheerful presence at our meetings.

The funeral will be at 2pm on 10th July at Penmount Crematorium Truro followed by a wake at Trelissick gardens barn. The family are asking for donations to the brain tumour charity via the following link instead of funeral flowers.
