Learn how to master the unique demands of the 5,000m distance in this exclusive Q&A featuring former world-class athletes Tim Hutchings and Eamonn Martin.
The 5k is a “threshold” event—it requires the raw speed of a middle-distance runner and the endurance of a 10km/XC runner. In this deep-dive webinar, Tim and Eamonn will break down the event from two unique perspectives. Whether you are a speed-oriented runner looking to hold your pace or a high-mileage engine trying to find that final gear, this session will provide the insights to help you towards your next breakthrough.
What we’ll cover:
– Training Philosophies: Comparing speed-based vs. strength-based approaches.
– Pacing Strategy: How to avoid the “mid-race fade” and finish strong.
– Mental Toughness: Lessons from the highest levels of international competition.
– Live Q&A: Your chance to ask the experts about your own training.
By combining Tim’s Olympic 5k speed with Eamonn’s Marathon-winning endurance, this masterclass offers a rare 360-degree look at the 5,000m. Whether you’re a track specialist or a road runner, you’ll learn exactly how these two legends built the engines that took them to the top of the world rankings.
