Loughborough set to be climax of the BMC Grand Prix

The Grand Prix series reaches its climax at Loughborough on August 27th.

Not only will the final meeting settle the overall Grand Prix Points series with £1000 up for grabs to the male and female winners of the series, but it will also be a last chance for an end of season crack at PBs and individual prize money.

In the points standing Ben Pattison and Calli Thackery lead the way with two perfect scores each. All the series points can be found HERE

The top individual prize money of £1500 for a race win in our fastest time category has been won four times this year by:

Aimee Pratt 6:08.16 2000m Steeplechase Birmingham University GP – A British Best

Calli Thackery 15:06.26 5000m Watford International GP – World Championship Standard

Ben Pattison 1:44.60 800m Trafford GP – BMC Record

Calli Thackery 15:02.55 5000m Trafford  GP – BMC outdoor best

In addition, the GP series has seen a South American record for Tatiane Da Silva of Brazil with a 9:24.28 3000m steeplechase.

Entries are open for the meeting HERE With the meeting coming late in the year we have opened it to non-members as well and will try and give as many as possible a last chance for a PB.

For all the athletes who have gained European Qualifications in the meeting an advantage of the late date is that it falls after the championship.

With the rate of PBs in the Grand Prix anyone who did all four meetings would have had a 90% chance of setting a personal best!
