Pace makers are required for a variety of races at the Sydney Wooderson/BMC Eltham meeting on Wednesday 18th August. The races start at 8pm and male and female pacemakers are needed for 800m and 1500m races. Any one interested should contact David Reader on davidreader@britishmilersclub.com
This year’s 3rd Sydney Wooderson 800m Memorial Race will also feature an equivalent women’s 800m race.
Like the men’s race, the women’s race will have on offer £400 for the winner, if they can break a time of 2:04mins. For the men the standards remain the same – if they can win and break Sydney’s world record time of 1:48.4 then they too take home £400.
Male and female athletes can now enter both races online via the BMC website.
These two high quality races act as the highlight to a meeting that features a host of middle-distance races. The meeting has a race for all standards and any BMC athlete can now enter a range of 800m and 1500m races.
The meeting and the Wooderson races are a joint effort between Cambridge Harriers, the BMC and Blackheath Harriers.
The Sydney Wooderson 800m Memorial races commemorate the prolific Blackheath runner who set the world 800m record (1:48.4sec) in 1938.
The full prize money on offer for men’s and women’s races is:

2nd place - £100
3rd place - £50
Bonus – £250
